Electric Strike Locks

small-electric-strike-locksElectric strikes, also known as door strikes or door releases, are used in locations where access control is required. Many people are familiar with electric strikes for the “buzz-in” sound made when the current flows through the electric strike to open a door.

Electric strikes are controlled by low-voltage electrical power sources, which may be 12 or 24 or higher voltage, and take AC or DC current or both. The AC current makes the familiar buzzing sound, whereas the DC current is almost completely silent except for a slight clicking noise. In general, a DC electric strike lasts longer than an AC electric strike.

Gteknologies offers a variety of electric strikes, most of them being fail secure, which means they stay locked even when power fails in an area. We install electric strikes for use in wood, metal and aluminum door frames, and iron gates.
